Sodomy.org is an independent editorial site. It is not a clinic, a firm, a church, or a pornographer. The voice is a witty cultural commentator who has read the footnotes: part historian, part sex-ed teacher, part person who will not let a bad statute have the last joke.
In 1998 the site published “United States Sodomy Laws,” a state-by-state sheet that Wikipedia talk pages still mention. The 2026 site is static HTML — no WordPress, no page-builder — hosted on DreamHost, so the thing can outlive a plugin. Law, history, culture, and health are written to be cited. The journal is the place a future automated news intake will land.
Editorial rules
- Law and health pages carry a last-reviewed date and a disclaimer.
- We cite ILGA World, court opinions, and named books. We do not invent statutes.
- PG-13: no explicit imagery, no porn affiliates, no dating-network ads.
- Religious queries get a historically literate page, not a sneer.
- Corrections: use contact. We would rather be accurate than first.
Money
Amazon Associates on books and films, optional merch, a newsletter. Display advertising if it can live on law/history pages without turning Health into a carnival. The hosting bill is real. The word is not for sale by the paragraph.
