This is the PG-13 version on purpose. Graphic manuals exist; Jack Morin’s Anal Pleasure and Health is the one we put on the shelf. What belongs on a public encyclopedia is the floor, not the choreography.
The floor
- Lube. Mucous membrane plus friction without a gland designed for this job is how people get hurt. Water-based lubricants play politely with latex. Oil-based products and latex condoms do not.
- Slow is a technique. Pain that means “stop” is not prudishness. It is data. Numbing products can hide that data; many clinicians dislike them for that reason.
- Barriers and biomedical prevention. Condoms reduce risk. So does PrEP for HIV when prescribed. So do hepatitis A/B and HPV vaccines. So does not treating a sore as a personality test.
- Toys, if any. A flared base exists because the rectum is connected to a person, not a drawer. If something is lost inside, that is an emergency department, not a tutorial.
- Hygiene is courtesy, not a moral exam. Douching every time is not required and can irritate. Soap inside the rectum is not a wellness hack.
When to get help
Heavy bleeding, severe pain, fever after an injury, a lost object, or possible STI exposure: clinic or ER. Shame is a worse nurse than any of them. If you want a book before a forum, use the shelf. We do not run a toy store on this URL; Resources will point at serious manufacturers without turning the encyclopedia into a funnel.
Educational material, not a diagnosis, prescription, or legal opinion. Consenting adults only. Laws change; check primary sources and a licensed professional in your jurisdiction. If you are in danger, local emergency services come first.
